Transforming your skin is easy with the IPL FotoFacial. Often referred to as a laser, IPL (intense pulsed light) is actually a light-based treatment that is extremely popular and effective for treating sun damage, brown spots, age spots, facial redness, red blood vessels and improving overall skin texture and tone. An IPL FotoFacial is gentle and non-invasive, offering minimal downtime and an extremely high patient satisfaction rate.
The IPL FotoFacial is performed with a non-ablative light source that has been carefully calibrated to seek out specific pigments in the skin - redness, darker discolored patches or dark spots. Using relatively low-energy, short-pulse broadband light, imperfections such as erythema of rosacea, superficial telangiectasia, dyschromia, age spots and other discolored signs of photoaging can be gently heated and eliminated, replaced by newer, younger looking skin.
The IPL FotoFacial process causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness and age lines. The procedure involves minimal discomfort, feeling like the mild snapping of rubber bands against the skin's surface.
Minimal. Mild post-procedure stinging, mild redness and swelling may last 1-2 days. Brown spots will become darker and fall off within several days to one week. Hands and arms may require multiple treatments and the dark spots will take longer to fall off.
1-3 treatments. Rosacea and patients with facial redness will require multiple treatments (3-5). Once desired results are achieved, maintenance treatments are recommended 1-2 times per year.
Only skin types I – III are recommended to have these treatments.
